What to bring?

We encourage you to bring:

  • picnic rugs and ground seating
  • hat and sunscreen
  • free-standing shade structures (no pegs please and to be taken down once the stage performance starts).
  • plenty of Christmas cheer!

What not to bring?

  • Plastic ground cover
  • Elevated seating and large beach umbrellas
  • Glass products
  • Tent or camping pegs of any sort (metal, plastic or wooden), as they damage underground irrigation and are a hazard.
  • Sparklers / Fireworks
  • Tents or marquees
  • Pets
  • BBQs
  • Bean bags or inflatable furniture
  • Please note: this is a family event and is alcohol restricted. Only bring small quantities of alcohol according to the safe drinking standards set out by the department of health - click here for guidelines. Intoxication will not be permitted.

Food and Beverages?

A fantastic variety of food is available throughout the venue.

Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight is an alcohol restricted event:

  • Patrons bringing alcohol to the event will be monitored by security and the police.
  • Glass is not allowed at Elder Park. Please bring plastic bottles or cans instead.
  • Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the event day.
  • Patrons who become intoxicated, abusive, offensive or quarrelsome will be asked to leave
  • Please note that alcohol will be sold in a licensed area at the venue during the event.

Seating at the Event

Patrons are encouraged to bring picnic rugs and ground seating from home. Please note that high chairs and beach umbrellas cannot be used on site so be sure to bring your sunscreen and hat along with you.

Is there a cost?

Torrens Transit Carols by Candlelight is supported by Novita Children’s Services. Your donation for the Novita Children's Services Christmas Appeal- upon main gate entry would be greatly appreciated.

What time can I arrive?

Event opens: 2pm

Preshow: 5pm-7pm

Main Concert: 8.15pm

There will be rides, food and lots of fun from 2pm, so come down to Elder Park for a whole day worth of Christmas themed excitement.

Auslan Interpreters
