Marina Prior
Marina Prior is regarded as Australia’s leading lady of musical theatre and in 2023, was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to the Arts.
Marina’s career began when her very first audition won her the role of Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance, followed by starring opposite Richard Harris in Camelot. Since then, Marina has performed more than forty lead roles across Australia, including Christine Daaé in the original Australian production of The Phantom of the Opera, a role she performed for three years.
Her extensive stage credits include Cats, Les Misérables, West Side Story, The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Hello, Dolly!, 9 to 5 – The Musical, and Les Misérables – The Arena Spectacular.
Marina is currently in London where she is reprising her role as Madame Thénardier in the 40th Anniversary production of Les Misérables in London’s West End.
Marina has also appeared in acclaimed productions with the Melbourne and Sydney Theatre Companies and performed internationally with José Carreras and Il Divo. Among her many honours, Marina has received the Advance Australia Award for her contribution to the performing arts and was named one of Australia’s 100 Entertainers of the Century.
