Marina Prior

Marina Prior is known as Australia’s Leading Lady of Musical Theatre and we’re thrilled to welcome Marina back to the Carols stage again this year.

With more than 40 leading roles to her name, Marina is perhaps best known for her iconic performance as Christine Daaé in the original Australian production of The Phantom of the Opera, a role she performed for three years.

Her extensive stage credits include Cats, Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, The Pirates of Penzance, West Side Story, Showboat, Guys and Dolls, The Sound of Music, Hello Dolly and Follies, as well as the Australian production of Kimberly Akimbo.

Marina has also performed internationally, including acclaimed concerts with José Carreras and Il Divo, and has appeared at London’s Royal Albert Hall and New York’s Radio City Music Hall.

Among her many honours, Marina has received the Advance Australia Award for her contribution to the performing arts, was named one of Australia’s 100 Entertainers of the Century and in 2023 Marina was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for her service to the Arts.

Following her recent performances as Madame Thénardier in Les Misérables in London and the Arena Concert Spectacular, Marina is delighted to return to Adelaide for St John Carols by Candlelight.
